We believe that knowledge is the compilation of education, information, and understanding. Therefore, we want to ensure that our community is well-equipped with the information and resources that are necessary to make informed decisions and share this knowledge with others as we all advocate for social and policy change surrounding food allergies, food intolerances, and other dietary restrictions. 

  • Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)
    The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) protects people with disabilities from discrimination. Both the Americans with Disabilities Act (1990) and under Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, severe food allergies can represent a disability in the United States. Learn more here.

  • Can I order food directly from a restaurant through the MenuMatch app without utilizing a third-party food ordering or delivery service?
    Initially, no. While we currently do not offer this function through the MenuMatch app, we may consider adding this functionality in the future.
  • If I don't have a food allergy or dietary restriction but frequently dine with someone who does, can I use this app?
    Of course! As a company that strongly values inclusivity, we encourage anyone to use our app to better assist them in helping their loved ones find the most suitable restaurants and food choices to fit their dietary needs and preferences.
  • Can I make restaurant reservations within the MenuMatch app without using third-party platforms?
    Initially, no. However, we do have plans to expand our functionality in the future.
  • Where will MenuMatch be available for download and use?
    The MenuMatch app will be available for download through the Google Play Store and the App Store for initial use within the United States with planned expansion into other countries.
  • How much does MenuMatch cost to use?
    When our mobile application is ready for beta testing, it will be free to use. Just prior to the launch of our final product, we will be sure to update our community and post the pricing structure for the public.
  • Does MenuMatch "match" me with a specific restaurant and menu item?
    While we do value community and connection, we are not matchmakers :) . However, rest assured that our mobile app will have functionality that allows us to compile all of the necessary information to provide you with the best and most accurate restaurant suggestions for your dietary needs and preferences.
  • What food allergies, food intolerances, and dietary restrictions will MenuMatch address?
    When we launch our app, we plan to offer services for the 9 major food allergens recognized by the FDA--milk, eggs, fish, crustacean shellfish, tree nuts, peanuts, wheat, soybeans, and sesame--and vegan, vegetarian, kosher, and halal. As MenuMatch evolves, we are considering expanding this offering and adding in more features. Follow along!
  • Is this app only for people who have food allergies?
    No. MenuMatch is designed for anyone who has a food allergy OR food intolerance as well as for anyone who follows a vegan, vegetarian, kosher, or halal diet.
